My Nanu was Sebastiano Mangiameli the barber, my Nana was Marie Digiacomo, who leave on 6th and Williams. My father was Dominick Sebastiano, the hair dresser/musician and my mother was Antonette Nocita. I would stay at my Nanu & Nanu house a week before helping clean up the yard and house for all my relatives meeting there during the Santa Lucia Festival.. it has long lasting memories for me today..

  2. AWESOME ! I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU AND YOUR TEAM ALONG WITH THE HELP OF MANY OMAHA SICILIANS HAVE CONTINUED THE TRADITION OF THE SANTA LUCIA FESTIVAL. MY NANA,
MARIA DIGIACOMO-MANGIAMELI AND SABASTIAN SALVATORE MANGIAMELI HELP TO START THE TRADION OF THE GREAT SAINT LUCIAE’ IN THE EARLY 1900′S. WE LIVED ON THE CORNER HOUSE OF 6TH AND PIERCE STREET. WHAT GREAT MEMORIES AND WONDEFUL SICILIANS FAMILIES AND COUSINS AND FRIENDS. MEMORIES I/WE WILL NEVER FORGET. MY COUSIN STEVIE FUCCIO NOW RESIDES AT THE CORNER HOME ON 6TH AND PIERCE. WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE FESTIVAL RETURN TO THE OLD WONDERFUL NEIGHBORHOOD. THANK YOU FOR THE DVD/THE U TUBE VIDEOS, AWESOME. GOD BLEESS, DON MANGIAMELI

What a beautiful and sacred blessing.
Most definitely the “genesis” of Omaha’s Italian Renaissance!
And an inspiration to us all.

    Grazie millie!

My Nano is Dr. Anthony R. Pantano, MD. I remember visiting Santa Lucia Festival as a child and am thrilled to have the opportunity to re-engage in this sacred and wonderful event!

Oh Ginger, trust me, there is nothing the least bit idtiminating about me. My friends and family would fall on the floor laughing at the thought!I really enjoy FSO and still keep in touch with Patty from the Crisfield site. Patty was one of the founders of FSO and SHE inspires me. So we all have our mentors and role models.Merry Christmas everyone!
