Project Update

Just wanted to give you a brief update on the documentary project. Right now, our writers are continuing to finalize the first draft of the script. I’ve read through it, and it is the beginning of a very powerful story. The documentary is headed in the right direction. At this point all of our video has been shot. We are still doing some fact checking, and verifying some of the historical data that we’ve collected. It’s a very tedious process.

As soon as we get the script nailed down (hopefully early October), we’re going to hit the editing room. That’s when the documentary begins to breathe new life.

Our goal is to complete the documentary by mid to late March. We’ll then have a premiere in summer 2013.

We’ll keep you posted!!! Thanks!

Thanks to all of you fornsupporting this effort to preserve the Santa Lucia celebration. This is a wonderful tribute to our Sicilian heritage. My grandfather was born in Lentini and immigrated to Omaha in 1911. Our family moved to Sioux City around 1913 and then to California in 1944 so we have lost touch with this heritage. It is great to rediscover it here.

Thank you very much for taking the time to comnemt but more importantly thank you for making this film and for putting so much love and craft into it. Documentaries like this do make a difference, as does the work being done by the National Film Preservation Board.
